Summit Therapeutics Inc. and Lunit Inc. said on October 24, 2026, that they had signed a research agreement to apply Lunit's AI-powered pathology platform, Lunit SCOPE IO, to tumor microenvironment analysis supporting Summit's immuno-oncology program for ivonescimab, according to a joint announcement distributed by PR Newswire.

The work will apply the platform to hematoxylin and eosin-stained whole-slide images to characterize features of the tumor microenvironment without additional stains or assays. The companies said the analysis could support biomarker discovery and patient selection. No clinical outcome data were disclosed, and Lunit SCOPE products are labeled for research use only.

Ivonescimab is an investigational PD-1/VEGF bispecific antibody invented by Akeso Inc. and licensed by Summit for territories including North America, Europe and Japan. It is not approved by regulators in those markets; it received marketing authorization in China in May 2024. There are 17 Phase III studies announced, ongoing or completed, five of them sponsored by Summit, and five have read out with positive results.

Allen Yang, chief research and development strategy officer of Summit, said the companies would explore how AI-powered pathology can "generate deeper, more scalable insights from routine tissue samples."

Summit, founded in 2003 and listed on the Nasdaq Global Market, is headquartered in Miami with offices in Palo Alto, Princeton, Dublin and Oxford. Lunit, founded in 2013, is based in Seoul.
