CryptEscrow, a Miami company that handles cryptocurrency settlement for property deals, said on Oct. 22, 2026 that it had formed a partnership with Ripple to expand the use of blockchain payment systems in real estate transactions, according to a statement distributed by GlobeNewswire.
The arrangement pairs CryptEscrow's regulated conversion service, which turns digital assets into dollars during a closing, with Ripple's enterprise blockchain payment business. CryptEscrow said the setup lets buyers fund purchases with crypto without requiring sellers, developers or title companies to take custody of digital assets themselves.
"Real estate is a natural next step for that infrastructure," said John Ioannou Jr., founder and chief executive of CryptEscrow, who is also a real estate attorney.
The company cited figures from the National Cryptocurrency Association putting US crypto ownership at roughly 67 million adults, or about one in four. It also pointed to Deloitte research showing a 35% year-over-year rise in home purchases funded by crypto wealth, and a Redfin survey in which 12.7% of Gen Z and millennial buyers said they sold cryptocurrency to cover part of a down payment.
CryptEscrow said it holds registrations with the US Treasury Department and Florida's Office of Financial Regulation. Ripple, started in 2012, said it holds more than 85 licenses and offers payments, custody and treasury services tied to its RLUSD stablecoin and the XRP token.
