Meta said on October 7, 2026, that its Muse artificial intelligence assistant is now available as a standalone iPad app, roughly one month after the product arrived on iPhone and Android, TechCrunch reported.
Muse has been downloaded more than 6.6 million times since its September 8, 2026 debut on both mobile platforms, based on figures from the market intelligence firm Sensor Tower cited by TechCrunch. The assistant links to users' accounts to track email, meetings and bills, and can carry out tasks such as reserving tables, buying groceries and making purchases.
Meta connects the assistant to outside services through what it calls connectors, which users switch on individually. The iPad version includes several additions geared toward small companies, among them Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Klaviyo and Zoom, plus links to Meta advertising accounts. Notion and Granola were also added.
The company has separately signed retail partners including Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart and Wayfair, letting the agent browse and buy on shoppers' behalf. Those transactions can fail when retail sites treat AI agents as unwanted bots. On October 6, 2026, Meta said it is working with other companies on an open standard that would let personal AI agents identify themselves to businesses.
By comparison, Instagram took about 15 years to release a dedicated iPad app.
