Anthropic and AI infrastructure provider Nscale are close to announcing a second $45 billion compute deal, TechCrunch reported in October 2026, citing a Bloomberg report based on people familiar with the matter. Those people said talks were continuing and that terms could still change.
The two companies disclosed a $45 billion compute agreement a little over a month earlier, according to TechCrunch. A second agreement would extend a run of large compute contracts Anthropic has signed over the past year. TechCrunch said it had contacted both companies for comment.
The scale of spending on AI compute has unsettled some investors, who question whether the outlays will generate enough profit, TechCrunch reported. Anthropic has continued to sign such partnerships on the expectation that the spending will eventually pay off.
Both companies are working toward initial public offerings. Anthropic is still expected to go public in 2026. Nscale is also seeking a listing, though Bloomberg reported that it is facing investor resistance to its proposed $30 billion valuation.
