Flycode, a startup that helps businesses recoup failed subscription payments, won the Visa Everywhere Initiative global finals held at TechCrunch Disrupt on October 28, 2024, according to a sponsored post published by TC Brand Studio.

Co-founder Jake Vacovec collected the top award of $100,000 for the company, along with $25,000 in cloud credits through the AWS Activate program. GamerG, a skill-based gaming platform run by co-founder Rashid Haddadin, was named the audience favorite and received $20,000 and $10,000 in AWS credits. AWS gave $10,000 in credits to each of the four other finalists.

Five fintech companies pitched a judging panel at the finals: Flycode, GamerG, Qugo, which works on digitizing distribution channels, Trexx, which uses games to extend credit access to Gen Z and people without bank accounts, and Waya Finance & Technology, an invoice finance platform.

Visa began the competition in 2015. Close to 15,000 startups from over 100 countries have applied since then, and those companies have raised more than $48 billion combined, the post said. AWS said more than 280,000 startups have joined its Activate program since it started in 2013.

Jen Welter, the first woman to coach in the NFL, delivered a keynote at the event under the theme "Breaking Barriers."
