Investment firm Iconiq holds an Anthropic stake worth about $17 billion, based on the artificial intelligence developer's most recent private market valuation of $965 billion, Bloomberg reported in an account published by The Business Times.

Iconiq has invested more than $6 billion in Anthropic, the largest deal in the firm's history, people familiar with the matter said. Its first investment came in 2025, when the company was valued at $183 billion. The value of the position could double if Anthropic completes a public offering at a valuation as high as $2 trillion, as some expect.

Anthropic is expected to file IPO paperwork publicly within days, according to the report. Spark Capital, the only venture firm known to hold a board seat, invested $75 million in 2023 and now has a stake worth $7 billion. Sequoia Capital made its first investment at the start of 2026, putting in $3 billion for roughly 1%. Singapore's GIC also owns about 1% after investing more than $4.5 billion beginning in 2025, and in August 2026 joined Anthropic and Macquarie Asset Management in a data center partnership.

Menlo Ventures has invested more than $1 billion, including a $500 million check leading the Series D, for a position worth $14 billion. Google, Amazon and Nvidia have also invested billions. Anthropic, Sequoia, Iconiq, Sound Ventures and GIC declined to comment.
