Chiron Real Estate Names Charles Fitzgerald Board Chairman

Chiron Real Estate Inc. said on October 7, 2026 that its board had made Charles P. Fitzgerald chairman, effective immediately. Jeffrey Busch, who founded the Bethesda, Md.-based real estate investment trust and had held the chairmanship, will stay on the board as a director, according to a Business Wire release from the company.

Fitzgerald joined the Chiron board in May 2026, the same month that Maewyn Capital Partners LLC, the Dallas investment firm he founded and runs as managing partner, put $100 million into the company alongside investment partners. That money came in the form of a convertible perpetual preferred security intended to give Chiron long-term capital for its growth plans.

Before starting Maewyn in 2025, Fitzgerald co-ran V3 Capital Management, which he founded, and earlier worked in investment and portfolio roles at several real estate and asset management firms. He also sits on the board of FrontView REIT. He has invested in listed real estate securities for close to 30 years.

Chief Executive Mark Decker Jr. said the appointment reflects the board's focus on shareholder alignment and execution. With the change, the board decided a separate lead independent director seat was no longer needed. Chiron invests in healthcare and senior housing real estate.
