Constellation Brands Buys Vodka 'Ade' Startup SpikedAde
The Corona and Modelo marketer is pushing deeper into ready-to-drink cocktails with a zero-sugar, sports-drink-flavored vodka brand.

Constellation Brands said on October 6, 2026 that it has acquired SpikedAde, a spirit-based ready-to-drink beverage brand, according to a company announcement distributed by GlobeNewswire. Financial terms were not disclosed, though the Rochester, N.Y.-based company referenced possible contingent consideration in its forward-looking statements.
SpikedAde sells vodka-based drinks modeled on sports drink flavors in a zero-sugar, 100-calorie, non-carbonated format, competing in what Constellation described as the emerging "Ade" segment of the ready-to-drink category. The brand is currently sold across the eastern U.S., and Constellation cited expanding distribution and repeat orders as evidence of early traction.
President and Chief Executive Nicholas Fink said the brand had "carved out a distinctive position in an emerging segment" and that Constellation intends to use its scale to widen distribution. SpikedAde founder and CEO Jason Cohen said the company's distributor partners helped the brand grow faster than expected.
The deal extends Constellation's push beyond its core imported beer portfolio, which includes Corona Extra, Modelo Especial, Pacifico and Victoria, along with wine labels such as Robert Mondavi Winery and Kim Crawford and spirits brands including High West Whiskey. The announcement came the same day the company reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 results.
