An investment fund tied to Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell has agreed to buy a 1.34% stake in South Korea's SK Inc. from SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won for 544 billion won, or $406 million, according to a regulatory filing disclosed on October 14, the Manila Times reported.

The purchaser of the 972,493 shares is DFO Public Investments, L.P., a Delaware-registered fund connected to DFO Management, the firm that handles Dell's family investments.

The sale is part of a larger plan by Chey to raise 944 billion won by selling 1.65 million shares, a 2.26% holding, to cover a divorce settlement owed to his former wife. SK Inc. disclosed that arrangement in a separate October 2026 filing. Korea Investment \& Securities is taking 681,431 of those shares, equal to 0.94%, for 400 billion won. The remaining buyer had previously been described only as a strategic investor interested in the company's competitiveness and longer-term growth.

Dell Technologies supplies AI servers and data center equipment and does business with SK Hynix, SK Group's memory chip arm, though the stake is being bought by the family fund rather than the computer maker.

The Korea Corporate Governance Forum said the parties would have to report joint holdings if they agreed to vote together, even informally, or risk breaching South Korean capital markets law.
