TMC Financing said on October 15, 2026 that it ranked first among U.S. lenders in the Small Business Administration's 504 loan program for a sixth year in a row, according to a company announcement distributed by PR Newswire.
The Oakland, California-based nonprofit said it worked with 471 small businesses in fiscal year 2026 and arranged $734 million in SBA 504 loans, which in turn supported $2.2 billion of total project financing. The company put the employment effect of those projects at more than 5,200 positions either added or preserved.
TMC is a Certified Development Company licensed by the SBA to make long-term, fixed-rate loans for buying, building or refinancing commercial property. It has more than 100 employees and lends in California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon and Hawaii, with borrower operations spanning 16 states.
Under its Community Advantage 7(a) program, the average loan last fiscal year was roughly $168,000, which the lender described as evidence of its reach into smaller borrowers with limited access to conventional credit. TMC also put more than $300,000 into economic development and capital-access programs.
"This was an exceptional year," said Omar Salah, president and chief executive of TMC Financing.
The lender, which enters its 45th year, said it has arranged over $16 billion in SBA 504 financing for more than 8,000 businesses since 1981.
